A,B,C & 1,2,3

We worked on writing and arithmetic today. We haven't officially started school yet, but we seem to practice something a little each day. Anthony's interest in learning and wanting to know how to spell things, has really gotten me excited about starting school! I think by the end of this month we will start. Today he worked on counting with the cupcakes. He has to count the cherries on the cupcake and then match it up with the correct number. I realized today, I really need to revise this activity so it goes much higher than just to the number 10. He is sooooooooo beyond that. But it's great practice to help to count slowly and accurately. We also practiced counting police, firemen, and aliens.

I recently picked up a composition book and we have begun practice writing lessons. We practice writing his name and numbers. I also picked up some dry erase boards at Target for only a $1. I've decided to use them for our bible verse of the week. This morning, we "doodled" on the dry erase boards. I heard that Crayola just came out with dry erase crayons. I can't wait to pick some of those up for our boards.

Anthony also worked on, but again, has mastered matching the uppercase and lowercase letters. I think it's time to start school for real! Now we just have to decide if we want to do school all year long or a have a typical school year? What do you do?
